This is a photographic/video series that sporadically documents a water treatment facility’s wastewater runoff pipe that empties into a local stream near Woodstock, NY. The continuous documentation over time and ceaseless flow of wastewater directly address the irreversible impact of suburban sprawl as it conflicts with a formerly pristine surrounding natural landscape. The video spans a time period from November 1st, 2008 to April 16th, 2009, and is meant to be projected outdoors directly onto manhole covers on streets and sidewalks as an infinite seamless loop, each loop lasting 2 1/2 minutes. This online version loops three times. |
